Up Front Brewing was founded in 2015 with the aim of sharing a love of exceptional beers and great artwork, with a wider audience.
I take great pride in having no loans, no investors, and no kickstarter funding - everything is paid for up front (for now at least!). Being a one-man band means that I have very little in the way of overheads, which allows me to spend a considerable amount of time and effort on researching and experimenting with new yeast, bacteria, ingredients, and brewing techniques from around the world. For now I brew on a small kit owned by a small independent brewer who sublets half of my unit in the East End of Glasgow.
After many years of nomadic brewing, in late 2023 I brought all my brewing in house, as well as starting to brew test batches of mead for a new offshoot project which will hopefully be launching towards the end of 2024 (Up Front Meadery - watch this space!) I also acquired my own brew kit (which is currently still in storage, due to the space restraints in my current unit), and a small canning line which is about to be commissioned – all going well I will hopefully be canning test batches in the East End of Glasgow before the year end, and will be installing both the brew kit and canning line in a new unit just outside of Glasgow in early 2025, where I have plans for upscaling the production of both beer and mead – I also have longer term plans for a tap room, bottle shop, and many, many other wild projects which I will keep up my sleeves for now...
